Black “Lives” Matter or Black “Lies” Matter. Which side are BLM Founders really on?

Black “Lives” Matter or Black “Lies” Matter. Which side are BLM Founders really on?

April 16, 2021 Cullors appeared on the Black News Channel for interview with Marc Lamont Hill

The interview has been all over the media. One of the Black Lives Matter founders Patrisse Cullors spoke to BNC in an exclusive interview with Marc Lamont Hill.

She is under scrutiny because of all the money amassed from the BLM over the years. The BLM Foundation amassed resources to the tune of $90 million.

Cullors has bought many properties recently but many wonder what is her real agenda. Is it Black Live or Black Lies?

In an interview with Marc Lamont King, she was on the defensive about where exactly she gets her income. Cullors mentioned she was a professor, a writer with a New York Times bestseller, and a producer with a Warner Brothers deal. She proclaimed all property was given to close family members and not for personal use.

Some commentators argue that the movement is not about blacks but LGBTQ.

An ABC News article, “From the start, Black Lives Matter has been about LGBTQ lives“, says that the original intent of the BLM movement was only for violence on queer people.

In The Washington Post article “I was a civil rights activist in the 1960s. But it’s hard for me to get behind Black Lives Matter” by Barbara Reynolds, she contends with the national ideal of BLM.

Pam Lightsey, who was interviewed, is a lecturer and theologian commented, “BLM rejects the usual hierarchical style of leadership, with the straight black male at the top giving orders,” Lightsey said. The BLM also gives special “attention to the needs of black queers, the black transgendered, the black undocumented, black incarcerated and others who are hardly a speck on today’s political agenda.”

So, doesn’t having the black male in the lead help establish the power of black lives matter, or is it black lies matter because many feel that another agenda is pushed?

In the end, I hope everyone can see the original idea of caring for the livelihood of blacks is necessary with all the public abuse and killing of black men and women.
